Excellent and personal customer service

As of January 1, 2024, the Pension Fund for Metal and Technology (PMT) and the Professional Pension Fund for Merchant Shipping (Bpf Koopvaardij) will operate on PGGM's pension administration system. In July 2024, PMT and Bpf Koopvaardij will officially become clients of PGGM, and PGGM will welcome the MN employees who will be involved in pension administration.

What do MN and PGGM employees think about this? Read their answers below.

Both organizations have a desire to innovate. We no longer do this separately but together.

Janice Chin, Outsystems Developer, from MN at PGGM

Although their customer groups differ - health being distinct from metal and technology - they are closely related. The way we secure the future for our customers is similar. PGGM and MN have chosen a common backend, which I applaud. This could become the benchmark for the industry in the way pension administrators can work together. If you organise it intelligently, you can reduce the cost per participant.

Rob Krijgsman, FUSE Transition Lead, seconded from MN to PGGM

At both PGGM and MN, many people have worked for a significant number of years, which I find remarkable and a positive sign.

Laura Bronkhorst, Business Consultant at MN, previously worked at PGGM.

At PGGM and MN, people make an effort to help customers as best they can. The funds and certain details may differ, but we are all trying to achieve the same thing.

Dennis Witjes, Expert Employee Onboarding and Offboarding at PGGM, acted as a floorwalker at MN for a few weeks

The biggest similarity between MN and PGGM is the dynamics between run and change and the dedication of the employees. Both companies faced challenges in prioritizing the many tasks that needed to be done simultaneously. What I have noticed in both organisations is that when things get really intense, we roll up our sleeves and get it done.

Maarten de Haas, Workflow Leader Feniks PB Chain at PGGM, previously worked externally at MN

The enjoyable aspect of my work is that I can bring together two worlds. Both sides have their advantages. Together, we will discover the best of both worlds.

Jan Willem Oosterom, Risk Controller Internal Control, seconded from PGGM to MN.

Ultimately we both want to make sure our internal and external customers and their participants are well served.

Marieke Bouwman-Bak, HR Business Partner at MN, FUSE HR Workflow Lead

Both organizations have a strong commitment to their participants. Employees of PGGM and MN are loyal to the organization and feel connected to each other.

Francisca Donkersloot, Manager HR Services & Advice at PGGM, FUSE HR Workflow Lead.

In terms of people and culture, PGGM seems quite similar to MN. Both companies have many employees with years of experience and dedication to the company, often in a relaxed atmosphere.

Desmon de la Fuente, Team member of the Security Operations Center (SOC) at MN, previously seconded to PGGM.

Golden Ear

In the coming years, we will not only adjust all relevant systems and processes but also guide our clients' participants through the transition to the new pension system. By encouraging participants to actively engage with their pensions, we aim to provide them with the reassurance they need and contribute to building trust in the pension system.

Next to adjusting all relevant systems and processes, we will guide our clients' participants through the transition to the new pension system.

Over the past year, we have supported our clients in their considerations and decision-making regarding the pension scheme, financial setup, transition, and compensation. This has been a significant undertaking, with our policy advisory colleagues assisting clients in making the numerous (policy-related) decisions necessary to develop a well-structured new scheme. By the end of 2023, most clients had made their decisions. This sets the framework for the implementation phase, the most exciting stage of this journey.

Guidance in Pension Choices

Marc Nuijten (Principal Director Business Development & Transitie Business Development)

Transition to a New Pension System

On July 1, 2023, the Future Pensions Act (Wtp) came into effect, transitioning the entire Netherlands to a new pension system. The new pension scheme must be officially implemented by January 1, 2028, at the latest. We aim to transition with our clients by January 1, 2026. Marc Nuijten is the Principal Director Business Development and Transition at PGGM.

By improving processes and automating and standardizing where possible, we aim to keep costs low for participants without compromising the service we provide. The Golden Ear Certification, the Valuable Customer Contact Award, and the title of Communication Professional of the Year demonstrate that PGGM employees are working tirelessly towards this ambition.

We provide a good pension for employers and employees, and advise our clients on their pension schemes and its financing.

Qua mensen en cultuur lijkt PGGM best veel op MN. Bij beide bedrijven lopen veel mensen rond met jarenlange ervaring en toewijding aan het bedrijf, veelal in een ongedwongen sfeer
